Robert Norton, 82, and Jacqueline Norton, 60, a retired couple, were in a happy mood when they left their home in Lubec, Maine. They were headed to Santa Barbara, Calif., for the wedding of her son, Jason Seymour. "They had beautiful gardens, and she brought the church bouquets of sweetpeas before she left, told us to take whatever else we wanted from the garden while they were gone." says Leona MacBride, treasurer of Lubec Congregational Christian Church, where Robert was a deacon and Jackie was church secretary. "We put some of them on the altar for the prayer service Wednesday night. "Over 125 people came to the prayer service, which was for all the victims. The kids have decorated the telephone poles in town with American flags and yellow ribbons. And there's a table in front of their house that's loaded with flowers."
