My dad was a great man. Although people that did not live with him usually liked him better. Well what can i say i am not gonna lie. I loved my dad. He was my hero. It is tough for me to say anything but he gave his life trying to save others. I want to thank everyone that has left a mewssage about my dad. It is great to know that he has impacted everyone's life. I am currently and E.M.T. for a volunteer fire department in West Hempstead. I am goin to school to be a Paramedic. I am living my fathers dream. He wasted to do for swo long what I am doing now but he never had the chance to. Once again I would like to thank everyone who has said such nice things about my dad. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost someone. Everyone was touched by this national tragedy even if it was not a direct family member. it is great how everone has come together. ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU DAD!!

EMS PRAYER

As I perform my duty,
whatever be the call,
help to guide and keep me,
from danger big or small.
I want to serve and do my best,
no matter what the scean,
I pledge to keep my skills refined,
my judgement quickand keen.
This calling to give of myself,
most do not understand,
But I stand ready all the time,
To help my fellow man.
The praises sent is fine for some, but
I feel truly blessed,
That you the LORD have chosen me
to serve in EMS. AMEN.

I have had the distinct honor of having worked with mark for five years and in that time i came to know mark as a kind and caring person who loved his family very much. Mark was a big man with an even bigger heart and he will be sorely missed. I take no shame in having shed many tears since his passing away and iam proud to have had him as a co-worker and friend. it takes a special kind of person to risk there own safety time and time again all in an effort to help people they do not even know. mark was indeed a special person. someone once told me that ST. Peter held a special place in heaven for people like us and i have often found comfort in that, as i do now, knowing that mark is safe in heaven, watching over us just as he did so many times here on earth. As we pay tribute to all our fallen hero's i take special pride in remembering and honoring EMT Mark Schwartz. May God bless him and comfort his family as we forever remember him in our thoughts and prayers.

By any definition, Mark Schwartz was a good man.

A testament to anyone's life is the amount of people they have touched. It's not surprising that after more than a month now, the letters, e-mails, and phone calls continue to come in praising our dear friend and colleague Mark.

It seems that everyone who knew him felt his kindness. He felt love and he showed it everyday to everyone he came in contact with. When you discover that you can never stay angry at someone, it's because they have a good heart.

Not a day has gone by since September 11th that I don't think of Mark. I mourn for his family and I personally miss his warmth, his laughter, his enthusiasm and his friendship. Hunter mourns deeply for our friend and co-worker.

Mark Schwartz was a good man. And now he is also our hero.

An EMT Prayer

God...grant me the ability to give
Emergency care
With skillful hands, knowledgeable mind
And tender love and care.
Help me deal with everything,
To see the worst, administer aid, and
Ease a worrie mind.
So help me as I go today
Accept what fate may be
Touch these hands, use this mind,
Help this EMT.
Amen
To the Schwartz family my you find happness and love each in everyday. Your thought are in my prayers each in everyday.
