Bob and I grew up together in W. Hempstead where we had a lot of great memories. We did a lot of bar hopping, skiing, beaching, biking and drinking.

One thing Bob knew how to do was have fun, always had a smile on his face. It was very rare to see this 32 year old man with a frown on his face. If I ever needed some cheering up Bob would be the person to call.

We had taken the FDNY written test together in 95. We both had scored well but I did not pursue the department where Bob had by taking the physical exam and scored well. Well, guess what happened next, yep, he got the job, it took 5 years but he got it. I was so happy for him, he was finally doing what he always wanted. A year and a half into his tour, Sept. 11th happened. Bob Linnane was a memory.

I often think of my friend Bob and still cannot believe he is gone.

BOBBO, we miss you and God bless you !!

God bless America !!!!

Bobbo was a true buddy. He helped me move into my new apt. acouple years ago. He extended a buddy pass for a flight on Delta a/l to go to CA. once.
Before Bob was a fireman he worked for Delta A/L for about 10 years helping and directing passengers at Laguardia Airport.
When he was in boot camp for the dept. in Feb. of 2000 he was unable to attend my brther Greg's wedding and on Sept. 22, 2001 he was unable to attend my Wedding.
I will miss his backyard bar-b-q on his new pit with all the buddies- I will miss not being able to call him with extra Yankee tickets- I will miss his presence on the ski slopes and the bike trails- I will certainly miss that always dependable smile and great attitude on life he had-
But I will always find him in my heart and my memories.

Love you forever, Bob

There were days & there were days & there were days, I know
When all we ever wanted was to learn & love & grow
Once we grew into our shoes we told them where to go
Walked halfway around the world on promise of the glow
Stood upon a mountain top, walked barefoot in the snow
Gave the best we had to give
How much we'll never know
How much we'll never know

Sleep gently, sweet hero

Bob and I first met playing Roller Hockey at WHHS back in the early 80's. I was a bit older and the new kids always got harassed by the older guys with chips on their shoulders. But anyone who knew Bob knew he was the exact polar opposite of anyone who deserves to be harassed and so I used to defend the guy and I always choose him on my team. We became great friends, and as we all know as we get older and pave our own roads, separation becomes the inevitable. We would go months with out seeing each other and when ever we did meet up somewhere it was always like it always was because Bob was always grounded, always smiling and always Bobby Bo! And that's why everyone who met him and got to know him, loved him. God Bless him!
